The technological advantage of WASKONT LED lighting

The core technological advantages of WASKONT LED lighting is high efficient heat sink drive circuit design. WASKONT R&D center, located in Israel, spent two million U.S. dollars in LED design and testing system. When new products launched the system can test its ten years' decline and the life of light conditions within 3 hours, to ensure product performance and quality.

Application of LED

LEDs are with wide application areas, including communications, consumer electronics, autos, lighting, signal lights and so on. And it can be roughly divided into top five industries: backlight, lighting, electronic equipment, displays, automotive. LED lighting has been gradually developed to the stage of commercialization, LED spotlights, LED bulbs and LED lamp has had the feasibility of replace the traditional light sources in cost.

LED with ordinary incandescent lamp, spiral energy-saving lamps and T5 fluorescent trichromatic comparison

Ordinary incandescent light efficiency with 12lm / W, life expectancy is less than 2000 hours. Spiral energy-saving lamps for light efficiency 60lm / W, life expectancy is less than 8000 hours. T5 fluorescent lamps compared with 96lm / W, life expectancy is approximately 10,000 hours, while the diameter 5 mm white LED for 90 ~ 130lm / W, life can be more than 50,000 hours. It was also predicted that the future of LED lifetime limit will be infinite.

What are the advantages of LED?

Optical Efficiency: spectrum almost all concentrated in the visible light frequency, efficiency can reach 80% -90%. And the luminous efficiency of incandescent is only with almost 10%-20% visible light efficiency.

High-quality Light: as a result that there is no ultraviolet and infrared of spectrum, there is no heat, no radiation, and is typically green lighting.

Small Energy Consumption: single-power general in the 0.05-1w, through the cluster can be tailored to meet different needs, and waste little. As the light source, in the same brightness, it's power consumption can be only 1/8-10 of ordinary incandescent.

Long life: flux attenuation to 70% of the standard life expectancy is 50,000 hours. A semiconductor lamp can be used under normal circumstances 50 years, even if the long life of the people, lives up to it with two lights.

Durable and Reliable: No tungsten wire, glass and other easily damaged components, few non-normal retirement rate, and with very low maintenance costs.

Flexibility of Application: small size, can flat pack, easy to develop into a short thin products, and can make various forms such as point, line, face of specific applications.

Security: working voltage is 1.5-5v or less in between ,and the current is 20-70mA in between.

H. Green: The waste can be recycled and of no pollution. Unlike fluorescent lamps that contains mercury as ingredients.

Short Response Time: can adapt to frequent switching and high-frequency operating occasions.

What is LED?

LED is the abbreviation of light emitting diode (LED),which is a kind of semiconductor materials that can transform electrical energy into visible light.

What are LEDs and how do they work?

LEDs or Light Emitting Diodes are a form of semi-conductor. They do not have the gas filled chambers or lighting filaments associated with conventional lamp types. When you pass a current through the LED it results in the required outcome of light or electroluminescence. WASKONT LEDs present many advantages over conventional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size, faster switching and greater durability and reliability.

Are LEDs Expensive?

WASKONT LEDs do cost more to purchase compared to the more conventional energy (in)efficient lamps. This upfront cost is offset by increased reliability, lower energy bills and longevity and can often be paid back within as little as 9 months of purchase (depending on how often the LED is used). After this period you will actually be saving money on your utility bills and replacement lamp costs for many years to come. Not forgetting you will also be doing your bit for the environment too!

Are WASKONT LEDs really environmentally friendly?

A single kilowatt-hour of electricity will generate 1.34 pounds (610 gm) of CO2 emissions. Assuming the average light bulb is on for 10 hours a day, a single 50-watt halogen lamp will generate 250 pounds (114 kg) of CO2 every year. The 8 watt WASKONT equivalent will only be responsible for 40 pounds (18 kg) of CO2 over the same time span. A building's carbon footprint from lighting alone can be reduced by a staggering 68% by exchanging all conventional style lamps for WASKONT. It is our mission to help reduce your long-term costs and yours to help make a difference toward a cleaner, greener future.

Do WASKONT LED products give off any heat?

Yes, all LEDs give off heat as a bi-product of the current passing through the semi-conductor. However, WASKONT do not reach the extreme high temperatures experienced using halogen and/or incandescent type lighting. This means more energy is turned into light, far less is wasted and, ultimately, you benefit from a reduced energy cost.

Why Led lamp is the best one for frequently turn on and turn off?

As we all know that incandescent bulbs lights when the current through the tungsten filaments. The cold resist of the tungsten is very small, however, the impulse current is very strong when the bulbs turned on. So frequent turn on or turn off will affect the lamp life.

Fluorescent lamp is a gas conduction product. When it is turn on, with the cooperating of the ballast, starter and other fittings, there will be instantaneous pressure in both ends of tube to make the fluorescent light generated. The oxide coating on the fluorescent filament will be impacted by the ion bombardment under strong electric field, which leads to the most vulnerable damage. So it is not suitable for frequent switching neither.

LED lamps are given light by the light emitting diodes. Light-emitting diode is a semiconductor PN junction. Conductivity of the semiconductor is a one-way conductor. Just like copper, aluminum and other conductors, the current change flowing through the semiconductor (as long as under the rated current and rated voltage range), will not affect the life of the semiconductor. Therefore, in addition to the advantage of small size, low driving voltage, full-color, long life, high efficiency, resistance to vibration and other characteristics, the LEDs have one very important feature of easy to control. Even if the current flowing through the LED changes in high frequency, the LEDs also remain intact.

A typical example is the red, green and yellow LED traffic lights in the crossings. These traffic lights, when red light on, then green light off; when yellow light, then the red and the green lights are off. if the changes happen in every 30 seconds ,then a day should switch 2880 times. And in one year, they have to switch a million times!
